Special Education Programs
About our Special Education Programs
The Special Education programs provide for students with disabilities to be enrolled in the least restrictive possible environment. Our programs and services include resource centers where students receive specialized instruction that helps them to achieve success in the general education classroom. We also provide in-class support options that range from some additional assistance in the class to a true team teaching model. Certified special education teachers with a wide variety of training and experiences provide all Special Education instruction.
Students are eligible for services when they are appropriately classified according to State and Federal guidelines. A prescribed individual educational plan which indicates the most appropriate placement for the student and the type and frequency of services to be provided is developed by the Child Study Team. This plan is developed in a team effort with the appropriate teachers, child study team members, parents, and students where appropriate.
