Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year in second grade! Thank you for visiting my class website. I am looking forward to being your child's teacher this year and getting to know all of you. This is my 14th year teaching at Valley View School. I feel fortunate to be doing what I love, working with children, in the township where I live. Get ready for an exciting year of learning!

Grammar - nouns

Reading and Writing - Poetry Unit (2 weeks)

Vocabulary -   poetry, rhyme, rhythm, alliteration, onomatopoeia

Fundations - Unit 10: (2 weeks) "D" syllable - contains double vowel combination such as (ai) in bait and (ay) in play. *Assessment: April 18th

Trick Words: great, country, away, America, school, thought

Math -Topic 13: Counting Money 

Science - Our Solar System

Homework: Week of April 16, 2018
***Reading - Read at least 10 minutes each night.

Monday, 4/16:
Math - Practice your math facts for 5 minutes using the level sheet that comes home today.
Reading - Read for at least 10 minutes and record your minutes on your reading log.
Fundations - Practice the trick words for unit 10.

Tuesday, 4/17:
